Born Stanley Adams on 7 April 1915 in New York, New York, USA, After a few desultory movie appearances in the mid-1930s, rotund American actor Stanley Adams came to films permanently in 1952, to re-create his stage role as the bartender in the movie version of Death of a Salesman. His busiest period was 1955-1965, when he appeared on virtually every major TV series in America. His video roles ranged from a pompous time-travelling scientist on Twilight Zone to a wisecracking witch doctor on Gilligan's Island. Shortly after completing his last film, 1976's Woman in the Rain. Stanley appeared in two movies with John, Picture from North To Alaska 1960, Stanley passed away on 27 April 1977 in Santa Monica, California, USA.

Born on 26 December 1914 in Sunrise, Minnesota, USA,  Richard Widmark grew up in Princeton, Illinois, and attended Lake Forest (IL) College, where he first began acting. He taught acting at Lake Forest after graduation until 1938, when he made his radio debut in New York in "Aunt Jenny's Real Life Stories." Widmark made his Broadway stage debut in 1943 in "Kiss and Tell." He had been rejected as unsuitable for military service because of a perforated eardrum. In 1947, he got his big break, making film history as Tommy Udo in Kiss of Death 1947, beginning a seven-year contract with 20th Century-Fox. His hand and footprints were cast in cement at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in 1949. After his contract with Fox expired, Widmark went independent. He first appeared on TV as himself in an episode of "I Love Lucy" 1951, and began producing films from the late 1950s. His film career slowed in the 1970s, but he remained active in made-for-TV movies. He starred in his own TV series, "Madigan" 1972, based on his 1968 hit movie, but only six episodes were produced before the show was canceled. Richard appeared in two movies with John, Picture from The Alamo 1960, Richard passed away on 24 March 2008 in Roxbury, Connecticut, USA.

Born Robert Marinus Lyden on 28th May 1942 in Los Angeles, California USA,  Robert Lyden was a child actor in the 1950s. He is best known for his role as the young space cadet "Bobby" on the 1954 science fiction television show Rocky Jones, Space Ranger. After Rocky Jones (which lasted only one season), he made a few more television appearances, and had roles in two feature films. The most notable was as a young Creighton Chaney in "Man Of A Thousand Faces", the 1957 biopic about Lon Chaney starring James Cagney. Robert appeared in two movies with John, Picture from Rookie Of The Year 1955. Robert passed away on January 17 1986 in U.S.A.

Born Oliver Joseph Key Jnr in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, A good looking supporting actor. The Louisiana native appears to have worked throughout the 50s in movies and TV and must have had a steady contract with Warner Bros which seems to have accounted for the lion's share of his work. Robert Keys appeared in movies such as The High and the Mighty and Island in the Sky and TV shows including BET Hip Hop Awards 2007. Robert appeared in two more movies with John, Picture from Island In The Sky 1953, Robert passed away on August 12, 2004 in Mandeville, Louisiana, USA.

Born Marta Victoria Moya Burges on 23 February 1934 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Linda Cristal will always be remembered for her great performance in "The High Chaparral" 1967 TV series. She was a movie star in Mexico and Italy. In the United States, she worked in such production such as The Alamo 1960 and Mr. Majestyk 1974, among others. In 1985 she returned to her home country of Argentina to star in the soap opera "Rossé" 1985. Since then, she has not returned to acting, Picture from The Alamo 1960.  Linda passed away on June 27, 2020, Beverly Hills, California.

Born Otto Franklin Hoffman on 2 May 1879 in New York, USA, Gangly stage actor Otto Hoffman inaugurated his screen career with producer Thomas Ince in 1916. After directing Ince's Secret of Black Mountain 1917, Hoffman concentrating on acting. He was seen as cadaverous, crafty, menacing, and sometimes near-moronic types in such silents as Human Wreckage 1918, The Eagle 1925, The Terror 1928 and Noah's Ark 1929. His ethnic range in talkies embraced the Riffian Hasse in Desert Song 1929, frontiersman Murch Rankin in Cimarron 1931, and Gandhi parody "Khook" in Eddie Cantor's Kid Millions 1934. Otto Hoffman spent his last film years in bit roles, most often cast as pawnbrokers or caretakers. Otto appeared in three movies with John, Picture from Haunted Gold 1932, Otto passed away on 23 June 1944, Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA.

Born Audrey Long on 14 April 1922, Orlando, Florida, USA, Former model Audrey Long entered films as a bit player in 1942. Though never exactly a star, Long enjoyed sizeable roles in programmers like Perilous Holiday 1946, Homicide for Three 1948 and Air Hostess 1949. She left films altogether after wrapping up her supporting role in 1951's Apache Uprising. Audrey only appeared in one movie with John, Picture from Tall In The Saddle 1944, Audrey passed away on September 19, 2014 in Virginia Water, Surrey, England, UK.

Born Frank Darien on 18 March 1876 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, Frail-looking character actor Frank Darien began working in films around 1910, playing parts in a smattering of D. W. Griffith and Mack Sennett shorts. Darien was busiest during the early-talkie era, essaying peripheral roles in such productions as Cimarron 1931, The Miracle Man (1932) and Mystery of the Wax Museum 1932. He was most often cast as coroners, doctors, household servants, doormen and justices of the peace. Frank Darien's most memorable role was Uncle John in The Grapes of Wrath 1940, directed by another D. W. Griffith alumnus, John Ford. Frank appeared in three movies with John, Picture from Tall in the Saddle 1944, Frank passed away on 20 October 1955, Hollywood, California, USA.

Born Joanna Barnes on 15 November 1934 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, Joanna Barnes Is a distinguished novelist and journalist. Her books include "The Deceivers" 1970, "Pastora" 1980 and "Silverwood" 1985. Her books have been published in Italy , France , England , Sweden , Portugal and Brazil. Her syndicated column, "Touching Home," was for many years carried by The Chicago Tribune and New York News Syndicate. Joanna only appeared in one movie with John, Picture from War Wagon 1967.

Born Jack Roper on 25 March 1904 in Mississippi, USA, A real-life prize fighter, mustachioed, tough-looking Jack Roper began turning up in films shortly before sound. His busiest period, however, proved to be 1938-1950, where he portrayed various thugs, mugs, and fighters and can be seen in nearly all the Joe Palooka programmers from Monogram. His final screen appearance seems to have been in John Wayne's The Quiet Man 1952, in which he once again played a prize fighter. Jack appeared in three movies with John, Picture from A Man Betrayed 1941 Aka Wheel Of Fortune, Jack passed away on 28 November 1966 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA.

Born  Ken Terrell on 29 April 1904, Georgia, USA, Ken Terrell was one of the longer working veterans of Republic Pictures, with a career that lasted from the end of the 1930s into the 1960s. After breaking into the movies at RKO in a pair of comedy features, A Damsel in Distress and Living on Love, Terrell moved to Republic, where he worked in a string of serials in supporting roles, including the renowned Perils of Nyoka, playing the assistant to the Charles Middleton character. The other major serials in which he appeared included Jungle Girl, Drums of Fu Manchu, The Masked Marvel, Secret Service in Darkest Africa, Captain America, and Spy Smasher, sometimes in multiple roles in the course of 12 or 15 chapters. After leaving Republic, when he was cast in a succession of roles in several low-budget science fiction, horror films. His rough-hewn features and dark eyes allowed him to convey fear, villainy, or concern in equal measures, and to play anything from thugs to army officers, just as his bit roles had him cast as everything from Arab assassins to town drunks. Ken appeared in three movies with John, Ken passed away on 8 March 1966 in Sherman Oaks, California, USA.

Born Wheaton Chambers on 13 October 1887 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, In films from 1929, mustachioed, businesslike actor Wheaton Chambers could frequently be found in serials, including Flash Gordon's Trip to Mars 1939, The Adventures of Red Ryder 1940, The Purple Monster Strikes 1945 and The Crimson Ghost 1946. In bigger budgeted pictures, he played more than his share of bailiffs, guards and desk clerks. In the 1951 sci-fi masterpiece The Day the Earth Stood Still, Chambers plays the jeweller who appraises Klaatu's (Michael Rennie) extraterrestrial diamonds. When he was afforded screen billing, which wasn't often. Wheaton appeared in three movies with John, Wheaton passed away on 31 January 1958, Hollywood, California, USA.

Born Robert Edward Homans on 8 November 1877 in Malden, Massachusetts, USA, Dour-faced US character player in films for more than two decades from 1923, often in portrayals of peace officers such as judges and lawmen. Even at his most elderly, he could frequently be seen as a white-haired, uniformed policeman - often affecting an Irish accent to boot. Robert appeared in eight movies with John, Picture from They Were Expendable 1945, Robert passed away on 8 November 1877 in Malden, Massachusetts, USA.

Born Veda Ann Borg on 11 January 1915 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, Veda Ann Borg was a New York model in 1936 when a screen test brought her a short-lived contract at Paramount, where she made only her debut film, Three Cheers for Love 1936. She fit better at Warner Brothers, where she played at least 15 roles some of them bit parts in 1937-38; but in 1939 a severe auto crash, requiring full facial reconstruction by plastic surgery, interrupted her career. Still attractive, she freelanced through the forties, often at "poverty row" studios like Monogram. In many of her films (both before and after the accident) she played a man-hungry, lower-class sexpot. Despite considerable talent, she received leading roles only in a few B films like What a Blonde 1945. But Veda could make the smallest bit part memorable with one line or bit of business. Who could forget the sassy once-over she gives Wayne Morris in Kid Galahad 1937 or her "modderen singer of modderen songs" in The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer 1947? Her later roles were more varied, from a zombie to Blind Nell a memorable last role in The Alamo 1960, Picture from Big Jim McLain 1952, she made another movie with John Wayne, Veda passed away on 16 August 1973 in Hollywood, California, USA.

Born  George Montgomery Letz on 29 August 1916, Brady, Montana, USA,  Montgomery was the son of a Russian immigrant who settled in the American Northwest. Montgomery attended University of Washington, intending to make a career of interior decorating, but his athletic prowess sidetracked him into a film career. Billed as George Letz, he starred in the 1939 serial The Lone Ranger as one of the five men suspected of being the Masked Man. When 20th Century Fox decided to inaugurate a B-Western series in the 1940s, they hired George Montgomery (as he was then known) for that purpose. The Western series fell by the wayside, but Montgomery was retained by Fox for romantic leading roles, including a courageous but unsuccessful try at Raymond Chandler's urban p.i. Philip Marlowe in 1947's The Brasher Doubloon. Montgomery returned to Westerns at Columbia in the 1950s, and was equipped with Stetson, six-gun, and steed on the 1958 TV series Cimarron City. In the early '60s, Montgomery enjoyed fair success as producer/director of several inexpensive Philippine-based actioners. He was married for 19 years to singer Dinah Shore; they remained friendly long after the divorce, with Montgomery frequently showing up as a guest star on Dinah's TV talkfest of the 1970s. By that time, however, George Montgomery was an actor no more, but a highly successful furniture designer. George appeared in two movies with John Wayne, Pals of the Saddle 1938 & The Night Riders 1939, George passed away on 12 December 2000 in Rancho Mirage, California, USA.

Born Gayne Whitman on 16 October 1881 in England, UK, British born American character actress Sarah Padden was active in films from 1926 to 1955. Usually cast in peppery maternal or spinsterish roles, Padden was seen to good advantage in the films of such B-entrepreneurs as Republic, Monogram, and PRC. Her larger roles include Sam Houston's mother in Man of Conquest 1939 and the philanthropic millionairess in Reg'lar Fellers 1940. During the late '40s, Sarah Padden was cast as Mom Palooka in Monogram's Joe Palooka series. Sarah appeared in two movies with John Wayne, Picture from Big Jim McLain 1952, Sarah passed away on 4 December 1967 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Born 4 December 1967 in Los Angeles, California, USA, Steely-eyed, mustachioed Edward Cassidy (or plain Ed Cassidy) bore a striking resemblance to Theodore Roosevelt, whom he played three times onscreen, including a brief appearance in the MGM musical Take Me out to the Ball Game 1949. But the McGill University graduate was more at home in B-Westerns and serials, of which he did an impressive total of 218. Cassidy could occasionally be found on the wrong side of the law, but more often than not, he would portray the heroine's (or hero's) beleaguered father, the stern sheriff, or a troubled rancher. Retiring after his 1957 appearance in the television series Circus Boy. Picture from Winds of the Wasteland 1936, Ed appeared in three movies with John Wayne, Ed passed away on 19 January 1968 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA.
